    Hi Rogers! Thank you so much for this instructive video🤗! I have a question, can I plant a plumeria cutting directly into a 12 inch pot? Or is it better to plant the cutting in a smaller pot first? Regards

    Your talking about mainly Southwest and western lawns are you not ...🤔 Lawns back in he midwest, the south and in other states get ample free rain water and provide excellent carbon sinks.not aton of clippings going to the lical dumps either becaue the clippings are mulched miwed in most cases and left to provide nutrients to the turf as they degregate naturally. We have rediculos mandates on lawns now especially here in California. I agree we must conserve water but if more focus was put on watering efficiency, maintenance efficiency and knowledge of how to properly manage turf grass, a lot less water could be wasted in my opinion. Home owner and business owner landscaping maintenance requirements ignorance and most of the time their cheap monetary investment in hiring mow - go- and blow bandits have made the situation of water wastage worse...🙈 Address the real issue of proper water management rather than telling a history of keeping up with the Jones lawn from England....😄

    Hi Sara! I have a Chinese lantern abutilon in an arch that I’ve had for at least 2 years. I live in Miami, and she’s always looked beautiful and always had a lots of flowers. Then one day, all the leaves looked wrinkled and I put Superthrive and watered it but nothing has helped. We have had an unusual hot summer, but it had not bothered it until a week ago. I would really appreciate your advice!!!! Raquel Flasco

    I prefer peat moss in a cactus mix instead of wood chips for less chance of root rot, my plumeria love a good weekly watering.

    I hope you see this comment. I know this video is 8 years ago but my question is *how much sunlight does a cutting need?* No roots calloused over just put into soil. How much sunlight? I had mine in direct sunlight and was told I was going to kill all 22 of my cutting. I was told to give them as much daylight as possible from rooting to growth and my friend is telling me the opposite.

    Hi. thank you for your wonderful presentation about my favourite flowering shrub/tree. Tacoma stands yellow trumpet flower. I'm amazed how long the flowering season is and how easy they are to grow. There is always colour in my gardens in North Cyprus where they enjoy the year long sunshine. My question is, when the flowers, fall along thin seed pot grows. Should I leave them on the tree or should I remove the seed pots to allow the Tacoma to use the energy? It would have used on seeds to produce more flowers? I haven't found the answer to this question anywhere yet. one more question is if the Tacoma sprouts suckers from the base or below the stem, do they need to be removed or is the plant simply trying to become more bushy and take over a bigger area?👍😊❤️

    I forgot to say that because I’m in Zone 4 in Canada, I treat the Vermillionaire as an annual plant. I’d have to do the same for the buddelia, salvia, Pentas and agastache plants. They are all warmer zone growers than here. Cheers!

  • @suzkyle-l8b
    @suzkyle-l8b 27 днів тому

    I’ll suggest planting the Vermillionaire cuphea. Hummingbirds prefer them more than other Cuphea cultivars. The flowers are larger, more dense, and likely hold more nectar. Lobelia Cardinalis (Cardinal flowers) are another favourite for hummingbirds. I live in Zone 4 so I grow the species perennial good to Zone 3, but there are lots of Lobelia Cardinalis hybrids good to Zone 5, if you want to try those.

    OMG to see you force these roots into a black pot - breaking some of them in the process then stuffing moss only into the pot made me shout at the screen. That orchid is soon going to rot as it will hold far too much water.

    great vid on a great plant. in fact, it is the most sensitive of mint family to wet feet. not that it does not need water, it is that it will not be well if you water it too much. if you live where it rains often, or have soil that holds water, this is not a plant for you. i never water the mound it dominates at all and i have the healthiest most robust and continual summer flower patch around. perfect for the mountain nw usa where i am. one of the favorites of native pollinators as well. keeps my little orchard humming 🙂 to plant where you want it, cut off a flower head after frost and shake it over where you want the seed to go. let it overwinter (it needs cold stratification for germination) and the following spring you will have a carpet of babies 🙂 after the first full year, the plant will be established and will give you abundant flowers all summer long. one of my favorites 🙂
